about me.
My name is Presley Renger and I’m excited to introduce myself and express my interest in riding in college. I have recently joined the Educated Rider team and am working with Maddy Buchanan to continue my collegiate equestrian recruiting journey. I’ve been riding since I was eight years old, spending most of my time working with Arabians before transitioning into reining. My foundation in Arabians with Liz Bentley has taught me patience, adaptability, and strong horsemanship, all of which I’ve carried into my reining career. I have shown Arabs for the past 5 years and in 2024 I was the Region 13 Hunter Pleasure JOTR Reserve Champion, was in the JTR Select Top 5 and was in the Top 5 of the 15-18 division.
Over the past year, I’ve been training under Bobby Avila and dedicating myself to developing as a competitive reiner. I spend my days at the ranch riding different horses with Bobby’s guidance to continue to learn and improve. Currently, I have two horses that are teaching me a tremendous amount—Wimpy, who I was riding from September to April 2024 before he got injured, and Cowboy, a horse I am newly leasing. We showed for the first time at the NRHA Futurity in the green reiner and earned a score of 70 as a new team. I am so excited to continue our career together and looking forward to my horse Wimpy's recovery so we can get back in the arena. Working with these horses has pushed me to become a more technical and mindful rider, each one presents new challenges and opportunities to grow.
This year, I have a full show schedule ahead of me, and I’m eager to gain as much experience in the show pen as possible. Riding has always been my safe space, and I thrive in an environment where I can challenge myself, put in the work, and continue learning. Whether it’s riding different horses at Bobby’s, working in the barn, or pushing my limits, I’m always willing to do what it takes to improve.
Riding is my passion, and I thrive in a team environment where I can grow, learn from others, and contribute to something bigger than myself. I’m always willing to put in the work to earn my place, and I believe my dedication, work ethic, and willingness to grow would make me a strong addition to your team. Outside of riding, I’m actively involved in DECA and plan to get involved in FBLA, FUSION, and Peer Buddies, to continue developing my leadership and teamwork skills. I am interested in majoring in business, marketing, or journalism!
